Non-traditional materials such as found objects, textiles, and organic matter are undervalued in graphic design due to the ideologies and restrictions that our capitalist society projects onto the design industry. This story is told through a slanted game of chess where our Queen has been captured before the game begins. Although starting at a disadvantage, this game inspires hope that through perseverance, strategy, and shift of mindset, a future where non-traditional materials are appreciated isn't all that farfetched.
