In cultures such as the Japanese and Anishinaabe, cranes symbolize communication—messengers to the gods and tribal orators. For my project, cranes represent a coalescence between fine arts and graphic design, conveying dialogue, connection, and the delicate exchange of ideas across creative disciplines. With Flock, I aimed to illustrate the convalescence of the two crafts; emphasizing the delicate hand-drawn nature of fine art and the ability of graphic design to send a message.
