Masked Canvas
Print, Masks, Digital Interactive Masks
Makeup and graphic design have coexisted for decades, continuously shaping and reflecting ideals of self-expression and identity. From advertisements in the 1940s to modern-day trends, the two reveal the transformation of makeup — from masking imperfections to embracing natural beauty. The masks serve as a metaphor for societal expectations, each representing the pressures women faced in its era. Alongside a lookbook dissecting makeup history, this project highlights how design and beauty continue to influence the way we present ourselves.
