This project revisits the Chinese Exclusion Act and brings it into a modern context, using fonts and graphic styles reminiscent of old Chinese restaurant and takeout boxes. Viewers are invited to consider stereotypes that have been associated with Chinese and Chinese American people. Various voices recount their personal experiences living in America, including immigrants from Hong Kong and the following generation of American-born Chinese.
